Shandong and Beijing Food

Shandong

Shandong cuisine is one of the most influential cuisines in China. While many cuisines start to shape with modern day, Shandong is still remaining its traditional cooking.

Because it's located near the river and sea, Shandong is known for their specialty in seafood. The ingredients which also including: sea cucumber, snakehead, clam, crap, and fish.

Myself, I'm already been tricked. The last time I'm eating Perking duck, the restaurant serve me a whole duck. The only preparation they made is cut the duck into small pieces. So, again do not get scam.

The way you eating Perking duck is with a plain pancake. Stuff the pancake with duck skin, cucumber, and dip it in a special sauce. You will fly to heaven, and then unfortunately you will come back to the ground.

I heard that some restaurants in Beijing with serve the duck skin and they will put the meat onto another plate to serve you. So, if you are watching for your diet, you may try the duck meat instead.

Now, let's leave the land of Beijing and into Shanghai. This city is best described as an international city. It has a history of various people from different cultures resign in the city. Because of combination of cultures, Shanghai does not have it own unique taste.

However, this is the place it can make you feel at home. If you are French, you can enjoy French bakery, as good as in Paris. If you are American, you can enjoy American steak as good as in New York. In another word, Shanghai is a one place stop for the world's cuisine.
