Shandong

Shandong cuisine is one of the most influential cuisines in China. While many cuisines have changed with modern times, Shandong still retains its traditional cooking.

Because it's located near a river and the sea, Shandong is known for seafood as its specialty. The ingredients include sea cucumber, snakehead, clam, crap, and fish.

Other

When you step foot into Beijing, the dish you need to try is Peking duck. When buying Peking duck you do not want to get scammed. True Peking duck will only be served with the duck's skin which has been deep fried to have a crispy red coat.

Beijing Food

Myself, I'm already been tricked. The last time I ate Peking duck, the restaurant served me a whole duck. The only preparation they made was to cut the duck into small pieces. So, again do not get scammed.

The way you eat Peking duck is with a plain pancake. Stuff the pancake with duck skin, cucumber, and dip it in a special sauce. You will fly to heaven, and then unfortunately you will come back to the ground.

I've heard that some restaurants in Beijing will serve the duck skin and they will put the meat onto another plate to serve you. So, if you are watching your diet, you may try the duck meat instead.

Now, let's leave the land of Beijing and go to Shanghai. This city is best described as an international city. It has a history of a variety of people from different cultures residing in the city. Because of this combination of cultures, Shanghai does not have it own unique taste.

However, this place can make you feel at home. If you are French, you can enjoy French bakeries, as good as in Paris. If you are American, you can enjoy American steak as good as in New York. In other words, Shanghai is a one-stop shop for the world's cuisine.

Thank you for being with me this far, I know it quite a lot of information. Take care, from where I am and wherever you are, have a good night and good luck.
