How do you measure the value of a person? Many people say that you can't, however, but I would argue that you can. All you have to do is take some pictures of yourself, put it on eBay, and voila (I wonder how much I'm worth? Hehe).
One thing for sure, it does not matter what generation you live in the women are always underrated, and this especially hold true with Chinese woman.
Throughout this site, I already have talked about what type of treatment that Chinese women have to endure, so I will not repeat that in this article. This article will concentrate on two points. First, it will explain why a woman is considered second rate compared to man.
Second, with the limit in value, I will explain what type of action the woman will take to protect her value and how we can apply it today when doing business with the women in China.
The Chinese have a saying, "raising a daughter is like throwing a bowl of water out the door" or "raising a pig is more beneficial than raising a daughter." The reason for these proverbs is because once the daughter leaves the family or marries off to the in-laws, she will leave for good. Sometimes, the time frame for her to return to see her family after being married is from once a year to never.
In all the Chinese movies that you may have see, when the parents are crying during the wedding day it is not just out of joy, but sometimes out of sadness as well. The reason is that it may be the last time the parents will see their daughter.
When marry off, the daughter's responsibility is with her husband not with the family. To the Chinese people during ancient times, there was no benefit to raising a daughter. Once the girl grew up, she was gone. This is what the proverb refers to.
The value of a Chinese woman can also be measured by her virginity. If a woman lost her purity before marriage, she will be rejected by not only her family but also the society as a whole. In turn, the woman is very careful how she cares about herself, and sometimes to the extreme.
