Going back into history, Feng Shui came from Daoism, which was founded by the Laozi. In Laozi's theory, the universe was created on the force called "qi." Within "qi," there are two main elements and five sub-forces as well.

The two main elements are Yin, the negative energy; and Yang, the positive force. The five sub forces are water, earth, metal, fire, and wood.
