Vietnam Legends and Myths

With 4,000 years of history, traditions and customs are not the only things that have been pass down from one generation to another. Like many other countries, Viet Nam has its own legends and myths of all the things around them, though more than one would think due to the age of the country. The stories are usually wife's tales to tell to children at bedtimes, a tradition that is part of growing up.

There is a story about everything and anything a person could think of from such as legends of insects, to fruits, to life outside of earth. Another reason to these folklores is people try to explain all the things around them. We would like for you to step back in time with us for some bedtime stories.
