The people of China have a history of over 5000 years (I). Through many dynasties and generations, the country has remained unknown throughout the world. Just recently China opened its door to other countries in the world.
The people of China sometimes are also known as the People's Republic of China. Something to keep in mind, when you say "People's Republic of China," you are talking about China itself.
However, when you say "Republic of China," you are referring to Taiwan. Some Chinese people will find it offensive if you say it incorrectly.
The country itself is under only one political party, which is "Puppet master." I meant Communist. Sorry, I cannot be serious for long.
The people identify themselves as one of the most powerful countries in the world. The most powerful resource in the country is the people themselves.
The people themselves make up 1/5 of the world's population, 1.3-1.4 billions to be exact. You may ask, "Why do we need to know about the Chinese people?"
Sun Zi, who wrote The Art of War, had a famous proverb in China. It said, "If you know yourself and your enemy, you will win 100% of the time. If you know yourself but not your enemy, you will win 50% of the time. And if, you don't know yourself or your enemy, you will lose a hundred percent."
After reading this proverb, you may understand why the Chinese take their time when they are doing business or becoming your friend.
From my work experience, almost every one of my American bosses have a copy of The Art of War in their drawer (though none of them know how use it). In my opinion, instead of reading about how to get an upper hand, you should get to know the person right in front of you because he/she may give you the answer him/herself.
Personally, I consider this proverb holds true everywhere in China, both past and present.
Because of this proverb, both you and I should study the people of China in this section. However, the people of China are a complicated and very sensitive subject. So I will only concentrate on the things that both you and I enjoy studying.
I know there is not much information on this page, but then again, this is just a little taste of what's coming. Please, click on what you like to know more about.
A side note, I will apologize beforehand if I offend any Chinese reader. If you feel that something I write here is incorrect, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Your feelings are very important because I want you to come back (hehe). Hopefully, I am not disappointing you. From where I am and wherever you are, good luck and good night everyone.
